The Delhi Labour Welfare Fund (LWF) is a crucial social security net designed to improve the lives of workers in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Established in 1998, it is an extension of the Bombay Labour Welfare Fund Act of 1953. The fund is primarily aimed at enhancing the socio-economic status of workers and their families by providing essential skills and support.

Applicability
  • The fund applies to establishments employing 05 or more individuals.
Contribution
  • Employee : A sum of Rs. 0.75 per employee every six months.
  • Employer : A sum of Rs. 2.25 per employee every six months. 
Frequency of Contribution
  • 30th June and 31st December of each year.
Returns
  • 15th July and 15th January of each year.
Utilization of Funds
  • The fund is utilized for various welfare activities such as Community and social education centers, Reading rooms and libraries, Community necessities, Games and sports, Excursions, tours and holiday homes, Entertainment and other forms of recreation, Home industries and subsidiary occupations for unemployed persons, Corporate activities of social nature and more.
